The tour begins with a coach drive to the coastal highway for a panoramic view of the city walls, ancient roof tops and the picturesque surroundings. We continue with the walking tour of the city, which is on the UNESCO-s List of World Patrimony due to its exceptional beauty and its rich cultural heritage. This ancient town, surrounded by strong ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. A pleasant walk will take us to the Rector's Palace, the Dominican Monastery and to other places of interest. THREE ISLANDS CRUISE
This cruise takes us to the Elaphite Islands. The Elaphite Islands seen from Dubrovnik to the north are Daksa, Kolocep, Sv. Andrija, Lopud, Ruda, Šipam, Jakljan, Tajan and Olipa. Most of these islands are very small and uninhabited. The islands Kolocep, Lopud and Šipan are the only inhabited islands so with this tour you will visit them. A short stop will be made on the island of Šipan and Koločep, followed by a trip to Lopud. During the boat ride you will be able to see ruins of former patrician summer residences that are scattered along the island’s wooded slopes. Lopud lies between the other two islands. The village of Lopud lies on northwest side of the bay and has a view of Šipan. Two hills are connected by a beautiful valley where a footpath goes through to the bay called Šunj at the other side of the island. On Lopud we will visit the 15th-century church of St Mary. You will have time for leisure on Lopud before our return voyage. ISLAND OF KORČULA Korčula is considered to be the birthplace of Marco Polo, and the legend has it that the town of Korčula was founded by the Trojan hero Antenor. In any case, the stormy and long history of the town has left numerous traces, visible at every step made along the streets and squares of this lovely town. We take you to Korčula by hydrofoil sailing between the Elaphite islands, or by bus across the peninsula of Pelješac, famous wine-growing area, so on the way back to Dubrovnik, a stop will be made in one of wine cellars for wine tasting. ISLAND OF MLJET
The island of Mljet is one of the loveliest and most densely wooded islands in the Adriatic Sea, and a part of the island has been declared a national park, whose main attractions are two salt-water lakes - Veliko jezero and Malo jezero (the Great Lake and the Small Lake), with an islet in the Great Lake with a 12th-century Benedictine Monastery. We shall take a boat ride to the islet of Sv. Marija (St. Mary), and pass some time enjoying a pleasant stroll through dense pine woods, swimming in the lovely saltwater lake or visiting the convent. PELJEŠAC WINE TOUR The Pelješac peninsula has been known for its excellent wines since ancient times. You will have an opportunity to taste some of the best wines of the region as well as learn about its production. We will visit one of the best known wine cellars in the region. Apart from the excellent wines and food you will certainly enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Adriatic coast as well as on the Pelješac peninsula and this will be ample opportunity to capture the picturesque vineyards and scenery with your camera. After vineyards of Pelješac we will visit Ston, which was among the first towns in Europe to be built according to a definite urban plan. Hundreds of visitors are attracted by the 5 km long stone walls protecting Ston. Other attractions include the old salt-work where salt is still produced, and the famous oyster and mussel farm. ĆILIPI - FOLKLORE TOUR
The village of Cilipi is well-known for its carefully preserved popular customs, rich folk costumes and its famous embroidery. Traditional welcome of this area - dry figs and grape brandy - will be an introduction to a walk through this picturesque village with rural architecture. At the Sunday Fair you will have an opportunity to buy original traditional souvenirs of the area, such as silk embroidery, or attend the Holy Mass at St. Nicholas church, seeing the village people in their traditional folk costumes of an exceptional aesthetic value. KONAVLE TOUR This tour takes us to the heart of Konavle Valley - Cilipi, a village known for its carefully preserved folk customs, rich national costumes and famous embroidery. Enjoy your stay in this idyllic setting by walking arround this picturesque village, buy a traditional souvenir or attend the Mass at St. Nichola`s church. After the Mass, a folklore performance will take place in front of the church. Our drive through the villages of Popovici and Radovcici takes us to Molunat for a photo break. Lunch will follow at the restaurant Konavoski Dvori, preceded by a traditional Konavle welcome of local brandy and dried figs. Time passes quickly in such a rustic ambience, with the sound of the swift river lined with greenery, and with tasty traditional cuisine. A visit of the gallery of the local painter Mijo Siša Konavljanin in the village of Mihanici will complete this memorable and highly enjoyable excursion. MEDITERRANEAN GARDENS
Ston was among the first towns in Europe to be built according to a town-planning project. Its 5-kilometers long stone walls are especially interesting, protecting the town and attracting hundreds of visitors, amazed at their length and monumentality. Other attractions include the famous oyster and mussel farms and the old salt-works where salt is still produced today from the sea water. The sightseeing will be followed by a sea-food snack in a local restaurant. After the tasty snack, we visit the Arboretum in Trsteno that will surprise and delight you with numerous and varied tree species, such as giant plane trees, palm trees, camphor trees and its diversity of exotic vegetation. This cruise starts from the port of Gruz with a magnificent view to the islands of Dubrovnik Archipelago. We shall disembark at the fishermen’s port of Sudurad on island of Šipan, the largest island of the Elaphite archipelago, and see its rich cultural tradition. Then we shall continue our sail to the bay of Janska and enjoy a typical Dalmatian lunch - fish and wine, accompanied by traditional music. After lunch we continue up to the island of Lopud, where we shall spend the afternoon swimming or sun-bathing at beautiful sandy beaches or strolling through luxuriant pine woods. |
